Founder & Executive Director
ZEV SHAPIRO is a Harvard student with over a decade of experience in progressive politics and youth engagement. He founded TurnUp Activism in 2019 and has grown the 501(c)(3) nonprofit into the country's largest and fastest-growing progressive youth turnout initiative.

DR. NANCY SHAPIRO
Nancy Shapiro is a part-time clinical psychologist currently in private practice. She has been working in the field of mental health since 1987, in various capacities, including Director of Residential services, neuropsychologist, consultant, and psychotherapist. Her education has included a BA from Simon’s Rock of Bard College, MA from Lesley University and finally a Psy.D. from Antioch New England Graduate School.

Alan is a former U.S. ambassador to Spain and Andorra and a lifelong social and political activist that serves as the Pierre and Pamela Omidyar Dean of the Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life at Tufts University.
STEVE GROSSMAN
Steve is a businessman, politician and the CEO of the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City. He is a former Massachusetts State Treasurer, DNC Chair, and President of Grossman Marketing.
ADAM LAVINE
Lavine has experience in multi-channel mobile branding, demand generation, and advertising. Lavine's work has reached over 60 million consumers spanning 15 billion unique consumer interactions. Adam has built dozens of mobile products for Fortune 100 U.S. companies and wireless carriers worldwide, holds several patents, and served as Chair for the MMA’s Mobile Standards Committee, defining industry standards for the multi-billion dollar mobile compliance segment.
CRISTINA TZUNTZÚN
RAMÍREZ
Tzuntzún Ramírez is a recognized advocate in the Latino community and founder of JOLT, a Texas-based multi-issue organization that builds the political power and influence of Latinos. At just 24, Tzuntzún Ramírez co-founded WDP and helped pass half a dozen local and state laws to protect the rights of hundreds of thousands of workers. Named “Changemaker” by the Texas Observer, she has been featured on NPR, USA Today, and MSNBC’s Up Late with Alec Baldwin.
JUSTIN REICH
Reich is an Assistant Professor in the Comparative Media Studies department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an instructor in the Scheller Teacher Education Program, and the director of the MIT Teaching Systems Lab. He is the co-founder of EdTechTeacher, a professional learning consultancy. He earned his doctorate from Harvard University, where he created the Distributed Collaborative Learning Communities project, an initiative to examine how social media are used in K-12 classrooms.

Sanchez- O'Shea is a growth expert, leveraging data-backed product and marketing levers with leadership and operational skills that allow him to achieve impactful results quickly. In 2020, he combined his experience in tech, politics, and media to start Up to Us, a non-profit that has helped get over 1 million young people ready to vote and hundreds of thousands of people vaccinated against COVID-19.
SONAL SHAH
Shah is the founding Exec. Director of the Beeck Center for Social Impact & Innovation at Georgetown University. Shah is a leader in social innovation policy including impact investing and technology for social good and business. She was the Deputy Assistant to Pres. Obama and the founding Director of the White House Office of Social Innovation and Civic Participation. She worked at the U.S. Department of Treasury and operated as an international economist working on timely development issues, the Asian financial crisis, and poverty reduction in Africa.
BRUNO DE
CARVALHO
Carvalho is a software engineer, currently at Square. He previously worked as Director of Mobile for the Hillary Clinton 2016 presidential campaign, where he led a team of engineers in building all mobile native apps for the campaign. The Hillary 2016 flagship app for iOS and Android was consistently described as a breakthrough in mobile voter engagement tools for campaigns, having been featured in many news articles and consistently holding a 5 star average review score.
NATHANIEL
PEARLMAN
Pearlman is an entrepreneur who founded NGP Software, Inc. in 1997 (now NGP VAN, Inc.) to join his interests in politics and technology and grew that company into the market leader in fundraising and compliance software for progressive political campaigns. Pearlman served as Chief Technology Officer for the Hillary Clinton for President campaign in 2007-08. In 2009, Nathaniel founded the information graphic products company Graphicacy. He now hosts a podcast called The Great Battlefield about progressive political entrepreneurs.
